Winter Watering
The Front Range experiences particularly dry winters with highly variable temperatures. As a result, all new plantings should be watered periodically throughout their first dormant season. This is especially important for evergreens, which continue to lose water through their needles or leaves. Ideally, all new trees and shrubs should be watered from 2 to 4 times per month during the first winter
(dependant upon temperature and recent snow or rainfall)
